Design Brief // Craft a constellation of three structures designed to revitalise and revive the left over and dead spaces of Perth’s “Historic Heart.” Your client is the City, and your users will be everyone. While your acupuncture will be small, it will be highly considered spatially, and directly responding to the needs of the site and its inhabitants, thus acting to repair the torn urban fabric.
Design Response // Created with the homeless in mind, but intended for community as a whole, my goal for this project was to create spaces that evoke a sense of belonging, where people feel welcome, calm and safe. Pods along the ramp offer a place to rest and recharge. A community exchange offers basic supplies, a place to store your belongings and a point of contact and local news. A community kitchen and garden offers a place to gather - to prepare and eat meals, to grow and care for plants.
