DESIGN BRIEF // In this ultimate phase of material literacy, you will refine your four preferred surface treatments to the feedback given, apply them to a final vision of the Proto-house. Your visuals will grab the attention of passers by, and your surfaces will beckon to be touched, thus bridging the gap between immaterial and material.
DESIGN RESPONSE //  Situated in a suburban garden, filled with native flora, Sanctuary offers a place to escape daily life and immerse oneself in nature. While the surfaces focus on collecting rainwater and harvesting solar energy, the structure as a whole seeks to nestle unobtrusively into the surrounding environment. The organic form takes cues from local indigenous architecture and clusters of mushrooms. The colour and material palette borrow from nature.
