Dwellingup
ARCHITECTURAL CONCEPT + RESEARCH
Dwellingup is a conceptual proposal for a forest ecology and environmental education centre set within the jarrah forest landscape of Dwellingup, Western Australia.
The project explores architecture as a lightweight intervention, positioned carefully between existing trees and elevated lightly above the ground. A series of interconnected structures support observation, research and environmental learning while maintaining a sensitive relationship with the surrounding landscape.
Influenced by Danièle Hromek’s principles of adaptation and responsiveness to Country, the design prioritises timber construction, flexibility and a light environmental footprint.
