This project explores early-stage spatial planning for a family home, with a focus on light, sequencing, and connection to garden.
The work centred on understanding how the home is approached, how spaces unfold, and how daily living is supported through layout.
The planning responds directly to the orientation, slope and context of the site, working with the natural fall of the land.
Living spaces are oriented toward the north-facing garden, ensuring good access to natural light throughout the day and a strong connection between indoors and outdoors.
A framed view to the garden is established on entry, drawing the landscape into the home and reinforcing a sense of calm and arrival.
As one moves through the plan, spaces unfold gradually, with changes in level, light and outlook creating a clear journey.
Internal levels step gently through the home, creating a clear spatial sequence and allowing the building to sit comfortably within its setting.
Early design work focused on clarity, not completion. Establishing a strong foundation for what follows.
